I tried to post this last night...but it disapeared so I am going to try again. I am tired of the tabloid-esque coverage of the Clinton/Jennifer Flowers/Paula Jones/Monica Lawinski/Linda Tripp(and I am not convinced*SHE*was born that way). O.k. I think that we can safely say that Bill Clinton likes getting his dick sucked. Honestly, realistically even *most* people in that position would take advatage of it. If not in that way then in some other. Power has a tendancy to do that to people. And, honestly I can not say that I would not do the same thing that Monica Lawinski did if a HUGE career rode on it. I am not saying that I would though.
I feel that it is between Mr.&Mrs. Clinton just like if the same thing happened to me and my husband it would be between us. True, I would whip his ass, but I would do it in private.:)
What I do have a problem with, and what I think that the American public should be concerned with is if the man is obstructing justice. That is illeagal, the last time that i checked dheating on your partner is not illeagal.
What I am trying to say here is this. It is hard to hold a human to a standard that is above human. Some of our greatest leaders were aldutarers(sp) Goerge Washington(how do you think Betty Ross got her flag picked?),Thomas Jefferson,FDR, Kennedy(all of them),and that is the only ones that I can think of off the top of my head. Thank You and God Bless America (Star Spangled Banner Playing in the background)hehehehe

I'll support an adulterous sex-fiend in the oval office AS LONG AS they are an effective president.

I'm kinda at the point now where I don't even care if they're an effective president. It's just plain FUN having an adulterous sex-fiend in the oval office.

I have to wonder about ole Bill, though.
See, recently it's come to light that he may have indeed had an affair with a Ms. Elizabeth Gracen, former Miss Arkansas, former Miss America, current member of the cast of Highlander: The Series.
She's a babe. She's lost some weight, but even in her pageant days, she was a babe.
So, what happened to his taste in women?

I hadnt heard about that particular affair. But you are right, about the taste thing. I do nto usually recomend rhinoplasty but that Paula Jones certainly could use it.

I can't say I'm terribly impressed with is standards of beauty, I mean hell, he's the fucking (so to speak...) president! SURELY he can find better looking women than THAT!... but I must say that ol miss arkansas ain't a bad start.... I heard something the other day and i can't for the life of me remember where but some news jockey was commenting that this sort of behavior must be expected of politicians because they have an emotional need to be loved by everyone and that powerful men have powerful drives. this is a JOURNALIST saying this... the same group that is blowing this all out of proportion! what is wrong with this picture?

Well, I think that we can safely say that was a bit slanted to say the least, they say that each differant station has to think what the sponsers want them to think. And, I would say that is the perfect example of that.

The women of President Clinton:
Gennifer Flowers: He's admitted it. And she's not bad looking. I grant him this one as his "Indiscretion Exemption". Why she consented, I'll never know.
Paula Jones: Maybe he was really drunk, but she seems like she's being manipulated by the Right Wing Conspiracy. I grant him the benefit of the doubt.
Monica Lewinsky: A kid who thought it would be really cool to say she gave the President a blowjob. She didn't. She's way out of his league.
Kathleen Willey: Now that's Clinton's kind of woman! Mature, unattractive, hopefully appreciative. But she had a book deal in mind. One questionable move, and it's 60 Minutes for you, Bucko.
To sum up, Clinton hasn't had sex since the Gennifer Flowers flap, but not for lack of trying.

I think that is a very realistic view of the entire situation. And, have you noticed that all of these women are just crawling out of the woodwork all of a sudden? WHat do you think of Linda Tripp though?

Anyone see "Wag the Dog?"
Like that, but in reverse... using sex scandal to cover up military action.

Ever since this scandal broke wind, I've found myself wondering..... If this is what Bill and Hillary air in public (or do on the front lawn) what on earth are they doing in private (keeping in the closet)? Suspicion is that there is room for a major archeological dig in those closets.
I've got a very vivid imagination and am not a particular fan of this Presidency. My choices are to think that s/he is a strong contender for "BOZO of the Century," which does not match the common mythos about them, much less my own impressions, or that s/he has a strong propensity to hide illicit activities. The hell with what s/he is doing in his pants, what is going on in the lesser seen branches of this government. While the right hand is talking about aid to Rwanda, what is the left hand actually doing in Zaire? the department of the interior? the education system?
Shudder!!!! Feels like one big shell game to me. Smoke and mirror, but where is the fire.

Actually, I think things are going smoothly enough that there's nothing else to report.
I mean, except the impending alien landing and evacuation before the meteor hits, of course.

Another side note: This is a perfect time to consider redefining the roles and expectations of president.
So far, the only model I've ever seen for a leader that I feel hasa rat's-ass chance of working is the old mythological celtic "year-king" grant the figurehead immense power, but make the consequences of being a leader _bad_ ( they killed theirs). Lastly, make it a lottery. Either a direct-draw thing, or forming a pool of candidates whom are voted into position.
This is the best alternative to our form of representative democracy I can think of.

what? drag em into office kicking and screaming? Hmm.... the thought has promise.....
I have always maintained that anyone who wants such a shittily paying job so bad that they would spend untold millions to get it should NOT be allowed to have it..... it is depressing that the concept of citizen politician has been trampled so badly. the founding fathers envisioned people who would set aside thier normal tasks and do thier duty to the republic with no expectation of personal gain. then, when thier duty has been done would leave office and go back to thier original tasks, knowing that those who came after him would do the same, thereby ensuring that the entire republic profited, not just the office-holder. makes me wish for a time machine....

I wanna be president.
I figure, I only want one term. So, during the election, I say whatever I have to to get elected (basically, not much different from now). When I get into office, I don't give a damn what anyone else says. I don't pander to the polls, I don't make deals with other politicans to get other legislation passed. Basically, I wanna be a dictator for 4 years. I figure once the American People figure out I'm not feeding them bullshit and giving everything to them straight, they'll be BEGGING me to stay in office.
Fuck so-called national security. If it's something military that help protect the country, that's a different story, but documents about what's going on or has gone on in the goverment? Break open the vaults!
JFK, UFOs, Judge Crater, Jimmy Hoffa, Fidel Castro, Watergate. Whatever.
Vote for me in 2008!

The Anti-Paul would be accused of running a negative campaign, right off the bat.
And it's every little Arkansasian boy's dream to one day grow up to be President and own all the guns he could ever want.

The problem with electing someone who ACTIVELY doesn't want the office is that they'll do a lousy job.
Installing somebody who's merely INDIFFERENT would be almost as bad. They would never show up for work...
We've seen what REPRESENTATIVE democracy gets us -- pandering fools who will say anything to anyone.
So what we need is something else. What, I dunno... benign insanity? Raving delusions of godhood? Sex-crazed Martha Stewart wannabe..?

As for the bumper stickers, well, you know, we have 10 years. I think we should just start making the money for the campaign and then worry about the media.
