I'm feeling SO inspired! This has been a great few days.
After lamenting the fact that there were no web sites dedicated to one of the great bands of the 80's, Barnes and Barnes, I found THIS!
In a frenzy of excitement, I rushed over to CDNOW and bought what they had reissued on CD. The Voobaha and Spazchow reissues contain some great liner notes from one of the Barnes brothers. When they arrived at my door, I was carried away to a happier, more carefree time - a time when I myself made music that was kinda fun.
I was so inspired that I whipped out some of my old tunes, and had a bunch of good laughs. I'm not quite sure whether or not this stuff is actually funny, or if it was just funny to me and my friends, but for the sake of preserving a piece of that long since lost teen angst, I've decided to compile all my tunes on CD and send it around to a few people.
As a strange cosmic coincidence, I also finally (after a year and a half) got the Kurzweil synth engine of my TB Pinnacle board working. As fate would have it, Braindead has written a new track. I still need some lyrics, but this is how all of my songs started out - back when they useta be kinda good. If that's any indication, I might be onto something fun. I was just speaking last week with Hijinx about he and I teaming up to do some more tunes together (we threw together a cover band one night here locally and drew more crowd than the headliners - what fun!).
I recently released two tracks on the internet compilation we did on alt.fan.devo which were met with some pretty good response, so who knows - I might end up like Sooz & Richie before long and actually start making some REAL music again!
I just had to share with someone who would at least *act* like they cared. :-) This is gonna be fun.
I'm so damn old. Pushin' 30 and reliving my youth. It's kind of pitiful, actually.

Watch Babylon 5 sometime, and see Bill Mumy as Lanier, Mimbari Ranger.
Mimbari, by the way, have heads that look a bit like... fish.
Its funny how life turns out, isn't it?

WOW, Cleo, I didn't know you were a synth AND Devo guy. I hated Devo, personally, but Richie thinks they ruled the world.
Play on, I say. And feel free to open for us next time we're in TN. :-)

The Barnes and Barnes reissue inspired me so much that I wrote my autobiography this weekend.

Things are progressing! Woooooo!
I picked up a used 4-track yesterday evening, and I spent all evening tonight mixing down tracks that I've not heard in nearly ten years, including the classic "Mayonnaise on a Panty Shield"!
Mackie mixers and quadraverbs can make even the lamest musician sound like he knows what he's doing. I'm proof of that!
This crap is all going up on the web as soon as I get the CD premastered. I can hardly wait. I'm such an exhibitionist.

Aah, yes! For the first time in history, digitally mastered versions of classic Texas faves "Mayonnaise on a Panty Shield", "Mellange" and "Girl With A Goiter".
Sooz, dunno if you wanna link to the Braindead page when it gets up, tho. It's kinda hardcore for people like us little Christians! :-)
"6 buttholes? Imagine the FUNK!"
Imagine THAT Soy Bomb! Ack!

Oh, yeah, I'll link to it. I'm tired of all the ho-hum X-tian links people usually put up. I want some spice.
And Homer's our webmaster, so who knows what could happen?

You should make your files MP3s. More compression for your buck!

Hey, Cool! Braindead won an award - kinda.
Braindead's Autobiography was chosen out of hundreds of daily submissions to be a "Random Silliness" site from the Center for the Easily Amused!
I'm so happy!
Come see me!
