Okay, here's my problem. Last month I had some tickets and backstage passes to the 38 special, Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. As luck would have it, we got a massive downpour that day and the show ended up being cancelled. So we stood around in the rain for 2 hours for nothing. Now they have rescheduled the show for tonight (Thursday July 9.) but they will be using the backstage area for staff only. And 38 Special will not be playing with them. So that's already 2 strikes over the original show. To make matters worse, I have to work on the show as part of the local staff to do some lighting things. So now I have my backstage passes again, but I can't enjoy the show because I'll be lingering about in the rafters all night. Is there no justice in the world?

You could always pretend you're one of the Hanson brothers and offer your backstage passes to some young girl on the internet.

Newsflash: According to a co-worker with young girls, Hanson is no longer cool. Admitting that you like Hanson is the kiss of death to your social standing.
Since the Spice Girls are no longer cool, I guess that leaves those New Kids on the Block...

Uh.... actually, acording to my 11 year old daughter, it is the Backstreet Boys. (She's pretty psyched about going backstage to that one). Although (and I doubt she would admit this publicly anymore) she still thinks Zac Hanson is pretty cute (Egads.. to have them seven years old again!!!)

Yep, Backstreet Boys are in, Spice Girls and Hanson are way out. I hereby third that, as the parent of a trendy 11 year old.

Although, Alyssa (my oldest) is a big collector of Barbie's. I mean, a SERIOUS collector. I take her to all the trade shows, and she has a collection of some pretty rare ones. Of course, she never opens them, she just puts them on the display shelf and dusts them every week. But that's not what I came to tell you about...
...When the Spice Girls Barbies went on sale, she HAD to have them. (Secretly transported into the house packaged in a plain brown wrapper of course!)

Actually, I think all the New Kids went thru puberty.
Except for FangSpice. :-)
