....And sometimes you get the shaft.

Well, a funny thing happened tuesday afternoon right after I logged off here at lunch. remember my statement something about "about to loose my job cuz things were REAL slow at work"? well.... GUESS WHAT!

I got a pink slip and i haven't a thing in my wardrobe to wear with it..... this, the LAST DAY BEFORE I WAS TAKING A SHORT VACATION...... what a way to start a vacation.....

ANYWAY... I decided, FUCKIT! I won't have any time off for at least another year now.... I might as well try to enjoy the time while I have it. so I went on vacation anyway..... the bags were already packed, the reservations already made and the dog already at the kennel.

now that I'm back, the realization of how low the checking balance is and how much got spent is beginning to sink in.... man I HATE reality....

ok so its time to look for another gig.... anybody know of a gig for a smart ass designer/drafter who knows his electronics? I don't work cheap but ya get what you pay for....

JOBHUNT UPDATE:

The hunter creeped slowly towards the job offer from up wind (there's no point in warning the beast too soon...) he raises the H&K .50 cal onto it's massive tripod... feeds the ammo belt and locks down the breech.... turns on the infrared laser and lowers the thermal night scope.... and lets fly with full auto......

there isn't much left to stuff but he sure bagged THAT SOB......

So, to update this thread, did I understand that Ror* got a new bigger better gig, and Ralf got the shaft?

Geez, it's catching!

I *may* be employed next week though. Something -- wonderful -- is happening. Stay tuned...

Ralf, standing on the corner wearing no pants with a sign will work for food USUALLY doesn't count as wonderful... besides, what would mary say.....

Maybe Mary doesn't wear pants, either.

Hmph. "Casual work environment," I just learned, means pants.

Drat. I'll have to refine my searches even further, it seems...

You mean, I would have a reason to bring out the Wealsetronix's Logo again.

Of course, I would have to update it for the coming millenium.

Heck, the Weasel was barely 1989 compliant.

"WeaselNet2000".

I kinda like that...

hey actually the old programmers that all the companies RIF'ed way back when were smarter than everyone realizes, i mean, who ELSE will be able to sit down and decipher the COBOL speghetti code that inhabits many of the larger institutions? this way they can go BACK to work, charge exorbinant fees and get back at the clowns that RIF'ed em and maybe plant a few NEW logic bombs along the way.....

I still have a late verison of The Weasel on floppy here somewhere (the one with *two* green bouncing balls)!

Hmmm... Could it be hacked to work with a TCP/IP stack???

Well, I have fallen for Webnuns98... If only it would run on a Unix-flavored box!
