If you're feeling cynical, go ahead and skip this post today, because it's gonna be pretty sappy.
My brother, Steve, is in the Air Force. He's stationed at Osan AFB in Korea. Tomorrow (9/22) is his birthday, and he's over there with no friends or family around.
This is the guy who has saved every greeting card he's ever gotten since 1978, when he graduated from high school. He wears his T-shirts in alphabetical order, depending on what they say on the front of them. On his atlas, he has roads highlighted in different colors if he's travelled on them, depending on which direction he was travelling at the time. This guy likes statistics and documentations, by golly.
Anyway, if you see this message sometime during the week of 9/22, and if it's not too much trouble, how 'bout sending him a happy birthday e-mail? He'll think it's cool, and he has an address that's not monitored by Uncle Sam. He accesses it at the library, I believe, so don't worry about Big Brother.
You know, just a "Happy Birthday", or a nifty picture you saw somewhere (Like the whale, har har), or a cool link you visited recently.
Here's his address:

It resembles his ex-wife, so he'll get a good laugh. Thanks, Cleo!

I sent him a link to EarthCam. That way he can travel all over the world without leaving his seat.

Perhaps he's no longer speaking to you.
