Those Wacky Engineers

A rumor circling the Net cites Time magazine reporting that two Intel
engineers working on the design of a recent version of the Pentium
microprocessor included a message that describes their feelings
about Bill Gates.

According to the rumor, when examined under a high-powered electron microscope, the phrase bill sux is clearly etched into the surface of the chip.

The so-called "flaw" in the chip was discovered long after the chip was released into the market, too late for Intel -- which has a good business relationship with Microsoft -- to prevent the chip from being included in tens of thousands of PCs, the rumor cites Time as reporting.

Intel claims that both the engineers in question formerly worked at Motorola, who makes the chips that are the core of the Apple Macintosh.

Both engineers have since been fired by Intel.

Hmmm. There ARE other Bills in the world. Maybe they were complaining about a boss at Intel...?

A hoax!?!? NO!!

Feh!

I refuse to accept this! I prefer the fabricated reality of the hoax to the cold harsh and less humorous reality. I therefore choose to ignore the facts.
