I'll look up the links for self-flagellation if you wish. May as well get some alternate education out of it, rather than just trips to the hospital and car dealership.

If it's a minivan, be careful of the power sliding door.

You can go here and it'll count the incidence of words on the Internet.

It's FUN!

Hey guys, speaking of links, you HAVE to chekc this out.

Friend of mine turned me onto this place, I should probably out it in the links are, but what the hell, I'm lazy.

This place, MyDomain.com will host you domain for FREE! All you have to do is pay internic the $70 domain registration fee, and they do all the rest!. I have registered 4 domains so far. It's pretty killer

Excuse me, but if you have to pay for something, how is it free???

Tes pays the price:
"Excuse me, but if you have to pay for something, how is it free???"

Tess, what you are paying for is Internics registrations, Mydomain.com does not charge for hosting the domain itself. You are not paying them, you are apying internic for registration of the name, not for the serive of having it hosted. it like a 2 partys partnership. One you have to pay for one part of teh service, the other one you don't.

Meaning....it's not REALLY free. You're still paying for something. SWBell will only charge me $70 too...IF I already pay them as my ISP.

Sorc, being confused as usual:
"Meaning....it's not REALLY free. You're still paying for something. SWBell will only charge me $70 too...IF I already pay them as my ISP"

But you aren't paying THEM, you are paying Internic for the registration of the domain, NOT the hosting of the domain. There IS a difference between teh 2 distinctions.

What's internic?

You don't take being disagreed with well do you Cap?

Cap Sez:

========================

I don't care who I'm paying. If it's coming out my pocket, it's all the same. Bottom line...either way, I'm less $70 regardless of who I write the check to. It's totally irrelevant to me who cashes it.

If you've bought a doman name before, you understand what he's saying, though. He's trying to tell us that a valuable service is being offered by mydomain.com. Usually the service that mydomain is offering (web hosting) costs money, but mydomain isn't charging for this one service (web hosting).

It's like saying "Look, I found a garage that offers free parking!", and then a bunch of people hollering "But how can it be free, if I had to buy the car?"

Even Though Sooz Hates It:
"It's like saying "Look, I found a garage that offers free parking!", and then a bunch of people hollering "But how can it be free, if I had to buy the car?" "
Very good analogy Sooz. I liked that

Now see Spas, this is what I mean. Since yours was the very next post, you coulda just replied without the quote. But folks gotta read my blather twice, instead. Icky.

I obviously need something worthwhile to gripe about, if this is the best I can do.

But Sooz, this is not like the BBS where one person at a time could only be on. At the time of writing, you have no garuntee that when you make the post, it WILL be the next message. matter of fact, that's WHY I started adding the quoted material, after having it happen to me a couple of times. As easily confused as I get, I found it helpful to keep up.
