Attention Houstonians!
Your presence is requested at the Ale House Sunday evening. Alas, it's a somber event... although there's no *rule* that we can't enjoy ourselves. But they're hosting a benefit, with a buffet, and music provided by the Hamilton Pipe Band.
The beneficiary? Well, it's actually the Hamilton Pipe Band. Yes, this poor young band of pipers has a simple wish. They wish to travel to the land of haggis and Mel Gibson. They want nothing more than to get to the promised land, to get in touch with their roots, to get to a place where people won't snicker if they feel like wearing skirts.
So if you're feeling generous, bring money to donate to their noble cause. If you're *not*, well, then just show up and have a beer.
I'm planning on showing up around 7-ish.
If'n ya want more info, call the Ale House at (713) 521-2333.

The Cleotis T. Burke family migrated to La Ciudad De Musica, Nashville, TN! It's easy to call this place home, I tell ya. I thought I'd be homesick for Houston since that's the only place I'd ever lived, but my how I was wrong. The only reason I end up in Houston these days is to see the mom and pops, and to scour the lower Westheimer record shops for vintage 80's local music.

Response #58
By: Da Sissop
Date: 3/15/98 10:20:02 AM
Well it was entirely too dark for my little piece-of-shit bottom-of-the-line piddly-ass Amazing Nunnery Webcam to capture anything resembling images, try tho' we did.
Also, I didn't even remember to bring the damn thing inside until it was almost time to go home and pass out. Otherwise I probably would have had quite a few more pictures of solid black for you to enjoy.
I was able to salvage *four* images where I could sorta make out shapes after jackin' with the brightness and contrast.
The first image is Mycroft in the foreground with a litle bit of fire, and Gowan in the background completely engulfed in darkness. The second image is Mycroft promoting smoking. The third image is Art Bell showing us a message he *just received on his pager* from the aliens (I should point out I'm *terrible* at remembering names the first time I meet people... humblest apologies...). The fourth image is the most amazing one. Apparently the camera picked up an apparition of Jesus at some point during the evening.
Roxy probably got some *good* pictures with her *real* camera, so maybe if we all whimper loudly enough she could scan 'em and send 'em this way?
T'was darn nice seeing everyone in the flesh again!

MULE was never ported to the Amiga.
In the early 90s, there was a group working on MULE386 but to my knowledge it never went anywhere.
If you really wanna play though, you can download a C64 emulator and the roms are available. You can play that way. I have.

On those pictures... #3 is an old friend of mine, a member of the Chris continium(we are chris, resistance is futile, you will be assimilated), and #4 is not Jesus, just Mycroft. Don't let the Lee press-on stigmata fool you, nor his penchant for hanging out with JayHova 4X4. He is, however, the primary source of all evil in the universe, if not THE source. He's the reason that Jaka and I are inflicting ourselves upon you.

BTW, in memorium of all the SNERDS of years past, I went drinking at the Crown & Anchor tonight (probably the closest thing Austin has to the Alehouse). I guess I was just feeling nostalgic. Had a great time. We talked to the 2 bartenders onduty tonight, and had a marvelous time poking fun at this one guy that was talking Drunkenese, (no one could understand a word he was saying)and this one other guy that was pissing off Dave (the bartender) by not tipping him. Ahh. "Those were the days!!" (Ala Edith Bunker)
