I cannot sing the praises of your browser's "Back" button loudly enough.

I think browsing would be much more interesting if the "Forward" button ALWAYS worked. It would just intuitively know what the next page was going to be and show it to you.

No more annoying clicking on links in the web-page itself! So long self determination! Long live the uberNet!

Okay, but on what criteria would "Forward" be based? Entertainment value? Increased suspense? Bigger laughs?

Or should it show you pages designed to increase your education? Your productivity? Your spirituality?

I can *do* this, just clarify what you mean, please.

Clicking FORWARD should collapse the most likely quantuum state for my personal reality, thrusting me forward inevitably to my future.

Kinda like what's happening now, by default. Only, the FORWARD button would give me a sense of control. Like the lap-bar in the roller-coaster of life.

Fang..Fang!! I know, I know something that would make this a funner place to play!! Remember when it used to ask you if you wanted to post any more messages in this thread?? That could be useful since I posted one on the first thread, then it took me to the next one without asking and I did want to post something seperate to ZaneyPooPooHead, but I was already reading the next thread and would have to go back and scroll through thingys again to post a second one on that thread, and of course by that time I'd forgotten what I was going to post in the first place..and, well, there you have it.

I dunno...not having that option kinda protects guys like me when we say particularly stupid things...

Okay, well, here are your options... consider them, and weigh them in terms of overall convenience and user-friendliness:

1. As it is now, for every thread you read you get a text box at the end, and the "Submit" button takes your reply, gives you confirmation, and shows you the next thread in your ReadNew.

2. I could make it so that the "Submit" button takes your reply, and refreshes the current thread, so every time you add a reply, you'll hafta wait through one "refresh" whether you want to or not... but at least you'll be able to see what you just posted.

3. I could yank out the text box all together, and replace it with an "Add A Reply" button, which would open a new browser window with the text box in it. Click "Submit," and it says thank you, message received, please close this browser window now. Then you close it, and you're still right where you were in the original browser window. You can click your Refresh button to see the reply you just added, or you can click "Add A Reply" again and again, until your fingers turn blue and drop off.

Please vote now.

I vote for beer.

Hmmm... if you MUST change it, option #3. But I kinda like it the way it is.

I say keep it like it is, and just say what ya wanna say in a single message.

But, I vote for #2 if it must change. Since we're not loading bunches of graphics here, the refresh is pretty quick most of the time.

A Vote for ME is a vote FOR THE COMMON MAN! Im about as "common" as they come.... #4 actually seems to me to be the most streamlined, if you don't have a response you just keep going....

I say leave it like it is. I don't want to reread everything and then have to read what I wrote... I say people should logon pretty often and make one concise reply to the thread. Otherwise, each convo will be going in 83 different directions. It ain't broke. Don't fix it.

Amen.

Having a separate posting window would make the thang MUCH more confusing. Maybe there could be more than just 'Add a Reply....' at the top of the input box. Maybe something like: 'To add a reply to this thread, type it in the box below, and then click on 'submit.' By the way, here are some rules about using HTML tags in WebNuns messages.'

We're not at 2400 bps here... MORE DESCRIPTIVE TEXT! :-)
