This was a truly great movie!
One of those events that makes you walk away from the theater feeling good. This movie had the warmth of 2 movies in it, and accomplished this withough being sappy.
It was one of the most stylishly done movies I have ever seen, with some of the most enthralling characters in a movie in a long time.
Alfred Molina and Judith Denc offer absolutely stellar performances.
A chocolate shop comes to town, intruiging some, angering others, and scaring a few. This movie shows that one person, willing to stand their ground, and still maintaining their understanding and compassion, can make a difference.
If you want to go see something that is just truly a good movie, go see Chocolat.
You'll walk away from this movie feeling better about yourself, and with a renewed look on the human race.
Like we actually have hope or something.

Definitely one of my favorite movies this year. Okay, so it HELPED that Johnny Depp was in it (although most people I talked to thought he was out of place in this movie - I mean, an irish pirate in France? Yeaaaah.) But, nonetheless, it rocked with talent. I also have the soundtrack which is brilliant, as well.
Rent it!
