As every true computer geek knows, TRON was THE ground breaking computer animation and computer geek movie that started it all. Here's some news for you..The sequel...TRON 2.0 is in production and slated for release the latter part of next year. The original diector, Steven Lisberger is doing this one too!
Pretty cool huh?

I liked Tron at the time. In fact, I was thoroughly overjoyed at the idea of a movie made in a computer. I've even watched Tron all the way through since becoming a bona-fide adult, and it's fun, if not especially good.
A sequel 20 years later, especially one called Tron 2.0 (as if there'll be a 2.0.1 sometime a few weeks after the initial release), reeks of gen-x nostalgia mongering.
I mean, of course I'll see it, but only at a matinee.

Sooz, it's running on Encore this month. It was just on last night as a matter of fact. I played the game too, regularly. LOVED it.

I remember seeing it, and being absolutely marveled at the technology it took to make the movie, esp. at that time. Of course when you look at it years later, you can see how far movie technology has come. I remamber Tron and Disney's The Black Hole, was both hailed as ground breaking special effects.
When I watched it again last night, I still found it pretty cool. I don't know, when you put it in perspective, it's impressive to think about what they accomplished with what they had at the time.

The only difference between cable and broadcast TV is that you pay for one.

Wrong!
Cable give your more channels, and a cable modem here.
BIG bonus points.

More channels *of what?* The same crap.
There are actually more ads per square inch on cable than on broadcast TV. (meaning you can't escape the ads if your TV is larger)

Oh please Homer, first off, DSL ISN'T new, secondly, DSL really isn't all that great. Too many drawbacks compared to cable modems.

homer, i admit the name tron 2.0 is a terrible name for a sequel, but consider the original director is doing it! assuming he hasn't become old and senile like george lucas, i think it bodes well.

Hey, I *did* say I'll see it; I'm just a profoundly tough customer when it comes to movies.
Saw a good one the other night, called 'Mercy,' starring Ellen Barkin. S/M lesbian whodunnit. Very sexy, if a little too long in the middle. Probably better than Tron 2.0, though.
