While on hiatus from Korea, my brother has been visitng, and renting various useliss films. He grabbed "The Wedding Singer". Although Drew Barrymore really is cuter'n a speckled pup, the move had no other redeeming qualities.

Has anyone seen The Waterboy?

Short shameful confession: I *liked* The Wedding Singer. I think all Adam Sandler movies should star Drew Barrymore.

much to my chargin, my friends overruled my vote of seeing 'waterboy' for 'enemy of the state.' eots was a cute movie which is supposed to make you paranoid about 'big brother' nsa and all their surveillance equipment, but it's just a tad too unbelievable to have the intended effect. nevertheless the actual plot is reasonably fun for a thriller.

I saw Waterboy, and I liked it alot...not Sandlers funniest, but not a bad flick.

the book and the movie part ways in the first 5 minutes..... the ending is completely different.... (according to my wife, personally i lost interest half way through...). drew barrymore is BUTT UGLY as far as I am concerned.... don't get me wrong, i personally have i real thing for red-heads..., but she just don't cut it for me.... the only reason she even gets roles is cuz she's got family connectiions...

saw "The Big Hit" just a few minutes ago, strange, its a john woo movie with wesley snipes directing (go figure!) and it has alot of things blowing up and blood splattering everywhere, but you laugh all the way through because it's A) so overdone its fake and B) the movie constantly makes fun of itself and the genre in general.

Ok, Ror. So you not only know about solar panels for water purification, you know why Drew Barrymore is successful, and the intricacies of filmmaking.

I have a headache.

she's related to sinatra.... which was talked up a bit on Entertainment Tonight when she first started making it big....

and she's STILL BUTT UGLY......

and the solar power thing won an award, it was developed by some nigerian guy (i think), it was featured in a design magazine, THATS how I know about it.... and the cobalt 60 thing is done to chicken carcasses NOW and has been approved for hamburger although nobody is doing it yet. I can't think of a reason why it would not work for water as well. if it were alloyed with nickel you could probably put it in direct contact with the water without fear of corrosion products contaminating the water supply, I actually have looked at variations on this theme a couple of times for this sort of permenant water treatment application that would not require any electricity or continuous human intervention. cobalt 60 is actually readily available in small quantities in developed countries and has a half life in the thousands of years, so all you'd need is some educated people to install it, and some low tech guards to keep the idiots away from it and it will work for centuries......

*Butt ugly*? *Redhead*? You can't be thinking of the same Drew Barrymore I am.

This is the one I'm thinking of.

how come she never looks like that in any of the movies she's ever in? and if you look around a few of those photos make my point. its not that she is unable to be attractive she just never IS....

You must be thinking of E.T.... because in every other movie, she's cute as a lil' bug.

i just saw the wedding singer last night. boy, that drew barrymore is a cutie! ror, i like your ideas about water, but your taste in women could use a bit more erudition

my review of wedding singer: a fun and harmless movie, standard plot, cute references to the 80s, and it feels comfortable and innocent.
