Here ya go, you MP3 freaks... if all else fails in your quest for something to do, go to www.mp3.com and do a search for "Richie L". Let us know what you think of the MP3, if you wanna. Some reviews would, well, just be groovy.

Hey Sooz, if you get stuck for room to plant some of your MP3's, or if you just want to provide a link off your homepage for downloads, let me know. I'll set you up an FTP account on my system. Then you guys upload what you want and link direct to it from your WEB page.

But but but, I have 50 meg or whatever it is on my own server, where I house about 12 people's pages. Thanks for the offer, though... yer sweet!
MP3.com just gets a lot more hits per day than our dinky little web page. We put it up there to get some sales.

Yah, I noticed the same thing. The mp3.com deal just seems too good to be true. They give you web space for your songs, will manufacture, sell, and deliver cd's for you, and promote you for free. Their cut? Half the selling price of the cd...better royalty rates than most artists would get.
I've got an entry at http://mp3.com/bluepeter/ if anyone's curious. I'm not expecting to actually sell anything, but can't say they didn't make it easy enough.

I did a search for Richie L., and I found two artists: Richie L. and Bratwurst Orange. Noisy noisy.
Maybe it's time for me to make crappy noise and set up an mp3.com account.

Bratworst Orange. And it wasn't BAD noise, but CRAPPY noise. There's an important distinction.
You see, people who make noise collage music tend to view their creations as crappy, because there are very few places within our society where such music is appreciated. In fact, I asked on the Snuggles list (which is where a bunch of audio collage artist types hang out and talk about Negativland) why everyone kept referring to their work as 'crappy' and 'lame,' and they said, "Oh, even *I* don't like to listen to it. I just like to *make* it."
